Problem is fixed, my version of Bad Company 2 hadn't updated itself like normal. They released a 2.4GB patch, but my updater didn't install it, so no servers were visible. After installing the update, the server list was back to normal.
Play Bad Company 2 while you still can! For those unaware, EA is shutting down the servers for some of the older "legacy" Battlefield games. This includes the beloved DICE game Bad Company 2, which is available on Steam and still has a handful of players online, and there's been a recent spike in population since the news.
